Meet the Staff
Love of Christ Lutheran Church
914 West Third Street
Weslaco, TX 78596
Allie, a native of Weslaco, and a life-long resident of South Texas, began the
study of music (at the piano) when she was 9 years old. She added organ
study at the age of 12 and began playing hymns for Sunday School and
evening worship at the First Methodist Church in Weslaco.
She holds a BS Degree in Education and music from Pan American University
in Edinburg. The only interruption in Allie's music activity came after April 1,
1967, when she and her husband, John, (originally from McAllen), founded
the Mid-Valley Town Crier Newspaper, and in 1976, the Mid-Valley Office
Supplies and Art Center. In the late 1980's, Allie retired from the business
world and began traveling in Texas and on the East Coast attending music
seminars and workshops. Allie happily came on staff with Love of Christ
Church on April 1, 2010.
She continues to enjoy life with John and their daughter, Laurel (Mrs. Lee
Schill), of Weslaco; their son and his wife, John & Lisa of Humble, 7
grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Choir Director, Dorothea "Dottie" Martin
Dottie has been directing the choir during services since the fall of 2005. If you
would like to use your singing talents to brighten our worship services she
always looks forward to welcoming new choir members. The choir practices
